Recorded here are quotes, thoughts, bits of fancy that I’ve been compelled to publish on the world wide intertubes. Currently I’m studying Great Books at St. John’s College in Annapolis, MD. A few of those books have brought on the pleasurable catharsis of philosophic inquiry, which may spill over from time to time here. I believe the world is not simply atoms and void, but matter and spirit. And I don’t believe eternal Truth can be found by the scientific method, because the finite can never finish testing the infinite. I believe humans are vastly different than all other matter in motion. I believe we have souls, and that they are immortal. I believe people do good things and evil things, and those things will be judged in the end. I believe the creator of the world has worked and revealed himself in it through Nature alone, but has done so most clearly in the real man and real God, Christ. I believe the Church is most visibly true when it bears fruit of self-sacrificing love to those in need, doing it in the name of One who gave them the freedom to do so. I believe that finding and knowing Truth is incredibly difficult, but absolutely possible, even if it takes a very long time. I think that many people who hold something to be True are afraid to find that it is not, and are bound never to question deeply. I think humans should inquire into the beginnings of things, like existence. I am a slow thinker with some big questions, and hope to work out some of those more clearly here in the future.
